FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the Brontë Parsonage Museum Car Park or at Weaver’s Hill Car Park. If some members of your group have limited mobility, you can stop outside briefly to drop off / collect.

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! Please let us know when making your reservation and we’ll have the treats and dog bed ready.
Please be aware that other diners may not be dog lovers, so your dog should be as discreet as possible.

Can I come in to look at the Brontë Post Office counter if I’m not a customer?

Of course! Come in and ask to see the ‘drawer’ - this is the original drawer where the famous manuscripts would have been placed awaiting collection, and where the Brontë sisters’ letters would have been waiting for them. Feel free to wander around and look at the artefacts on show; our toilet facilities are also available to anyone who needs them, whether or not you are a customer.

Can I bring a pram?

Yes - but we do ask for these to be folded down, if possible, due to the size of our seating areas; if you need to bring a large pram, please let us know in advance.

Are the premises wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, we do not have level access to the building for wheelchairs. There are steep stone steps up to the front door, and down to the rear garden; a wheelchair ramp is not possible due to the limitations on the frontage that we own and the restrictions related to being in a Conservation Area. Our customer toilets are also located on the first floor. Wheelchair access is possible on the front terrace, weather permitting.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Baby changing facilities are located in the right-hand washroom on the first floor. This washroom has a sign on the door indicating ladies only, but anyone who requires baby changing facilities is welcome to use it.

Are you open on Public Holidays?

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and this includes Bank Holiday Mondays. We do not open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. We are open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Please see our Christmas opening hours for any changes to the usual operating schedule.

Do you have outdoor seating available?

We have seating for 10 people on our front terrace, and for 14 in the south-facing courtyard garden. Weather permitting, the outside areas are open for both food and drinks. Please note that smoking is allowed on our outside tables.

Do you take bookings for large groups?

Please email us to enquire about availability for large groups. Our upstairs Postmaster’s Parlour accommodates 24 guests.

Do you have any jobs available?

Please click here to email Rachel, our General Manager. You should attach a CV detailing relevant experience.
